SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- The Lake Superior State University Athletics Department has tabbed Michigan native and certified athletic trainer John Teasley to fill its vacant post within the Lakers' athletic training office.
Teasley, who started in his current position earlier this August 2017, will be in charge of the LSSU athletic training duties for women's volleyball, women's & men's basketball, women's & men's cross country, and women's & men's track.
Teasley, a native of Zeeland, Mich., arrives to LSSU after spending 2015-17 at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. At ASU, Teasley was a certified graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Sun Devils' men's and women's tennis teams along with women's lacrosse. Before Arizona State, Teasley served as a student athletic trainer at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., from 2011-15 where he assisted in athletic training duties for men's ice hockey, women's soccer, and men's & women's tennis.Teasley graduated in 2015 from Michigan State and majored in athletic training. He then received a Master's of Arts in Education degree from Arizona State in 2017.
A 2011 graduate of Holland (Mich.) High School, Teasley competed four years (2008-11) in both golf and wrestling. He also was a drum major for two years with the school's marching band.
The son of Robert and Diane Teasley, John has a younger sister and his interests include cooking, reading, hiking, kayaking, and watching Netflix. He holds membership in the National Athletic Trainers Association.
