Lake Superior State athletics announced the hiring of Mark Vasey as Athletic Communications Director.
“We are excited about the addition of Mark Vasey to our athletics department,” said LSSU Director of Athletics, Dr. David Paitson. “He brings a high caliber of experience to our communications and public relations efforts stemming from his previous experience in athletics and will be a valuable asset to the growth and success of Laker Athletics.”
Vasey, who was hired in November 2018, serves as the primary communications contact for all 12 varsity sports at Lake Superior State University.
He came to Lake Superior State from University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where he was an Assistant Sports Information Director. Prior to that, Vasey was an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota and a Sports Information Intern at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky.

I am grateful to be able to work with a talented group of administrators and coaches, who share my passion for college athletics and the student-athlete experience.”
Vasey holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Purchase College (‘15) in Purchase, New York and a master’s degree in sport management from Minnesota State (‘18).
A native of Yorktown Heights, New York, Vasey currently resides in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
