Charbonneau sets personal best at Ontario Senior Championships
WINDSOR, Ontario - Lake Superior State sophomore Ben Charbonneau set a personal best of 62.09 meters while placing third in the men's javelin at the 2009 Ontario Senior Championships and Canada Games Trials held July 3-5 at the University of Windsor. He was chosen to represent Ontario at the Canada Games Aug. 22-29 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
Charbonneau and junior Katie Scott also earned USTFCCCA Academic All-America honors in track and field. It was Scott's sixth academic all-America honor and Charbonneau's first. Scott earned an exercise science degree with a 3.779 grade point average, while Charbonneau posted a 3.7 GPA through two semesters in finance and economics.

TORONTO - Charbonneau overcame a overcame a strained hip muscle to place sixth in the javelin with a throw of 58.52 meters during the Canadian National Championships in June.
Charbonneau was competing for Track North. He holds the LSSU record of 59.98 meters.
