17 LSSU track and field members rank in GLIAC top 20
SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake Superior State men's and women's track and field teams have several members ranked in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference top 20 in their respected events based on results through last week's meets.
Freshman Patrick Wright is ranked third in the triple jump (13.06 m), ninth in the long jump (6.43 m), and 16th in the 60-meter dash (7.09).
LSSU senior Adam Smith is ranked fourth in the 400-meter dash (49.81) and third in the 800-meter run (1:54.28).
Junior Katie Scott is ranked 18th in the 80-meter run (2:25.80), ninth in the 1-mile run (5:12.67) and second in the 5,000-meter run (17:30.94).
Sophomore Taylor Patton and freshman Katie Winiarski also ranked in the top 20. Patton is ranked fourth in the high jump (1.55 m), while Winiarski is ranked fifth (1.60 m). Winiarski is third in the triple jump (10.38 m) and Patton fourth (10.25 m).
