Lakers compete at CMU's Jack Skoog Invitational

MOUNT PLEASANT - Sophomore Taylor Patton placed second in the women's indoor high jump and triple jump to lead the Lake Superior State track and field team at the Central Michigan University Jack Skoog Invitational held Friday.

Patton cleared 5-3 in the high jump and tied with teammate Katie Winiarski. Patton went 34-11 ¼ to earn a runner-up finish in the triple jump, while Winiarski was fourth at 31-9 ½. Sprinter Amanda Pieczynski was fifth in the 60-meter dash (:08.32) and the 200-meter dash (:27.73).

The LSSU men also had good sprint and jumping performances. Paul Davis was third in the 200-meter dash (:22.69), and tied with teammate Patrick Wright for sixth place in the 60-meter dash (:07.18). Wright also placed fourth in the triple jump (42-8 ¼). John Preczewski was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (:08.75).

Evan Williams and Ben Tarbutton paced the Laker distance crew. Williams was fifth in the 800-meter run (1:59.9), while Tarbutton was fifth in the 3,000-meter run (8:50.40). Luke Allen finished 10th in the mile (4:30.97).
