Davis wins 200, Allen triple jump at Skoog Open
MOUNT PLEASANT - Lake Superior State's Paul Davis won the men's 200-meter dash, and Jonathon Allen place first in the triple jump Friday at the Jack Skoog Open hosted by Central Michigan University.
Davis won the 200 in :22.73, while Allen jumped 14.55 meters. Patrick Wright, Sean Brandon Jr., Ben Monroe and Davis placed third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:32.94. John Preczewski was also third in the high jump (1.90 meters), and Wright was third in the triple jump (13.31 meters).
LSSU's Jill Walton finished second in the women's shot put (12.28 meters) and bettered her school record in the weight throw (15.1 meters), where she finished sixth. Amber Fater set a school 60-meter hurdles record with a time of :09.57 and also placed sixth. Other top finishers for the Laker women were Katie Winiarski, who was second in the high jump (1.60 meters), and Amanda Pieczynski, who was third in the 60-meter dash (:08.27). Sarah Gallagher, Jenelle Spires, Arin Baril and Walton were third in the women's 4x400-meter relay (4:31.79).
