Laker athletes bring Christmas to area families
SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State University athletes bought and delivered Christmas presents for children in 40 families before departing for the winter break.
The athletes raised over $1,000 through various Student-Athlete Advisory Committee projects in order to help area needy families for the third straight year. They also donated dozens of stuffed animals donated during the annual Laker Hockey Stuffed Toy Toss.
Toys and stuffed animals were delivered to Head Start, the Chippewa County Credit Union on behalf of the Salvation Army, and the Safe Haven Homeless Shelter.
