LSSU men's and women's track make USTFCCCA All-Academic lists

NEW ORLEANS – The Lake Superior State men’s and women’s track and field teams both made the 2010 Division II United Stats Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic list.

The LSSU women posted a team grade point average of 3.15, while the LSSU men had a team GPA of 3.02.

Fellow Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference representatives Ashland (indoor) and Grand Valley State (outdoor) were named women’s USTFCCCA Scholar Teams of the Year. On the men’s side, Ashland was the top scholar team in both indoor and outdoor track.

The GLIAC was also represented on the all-academic teams list by Michigan Tech (men and women), Northern Michigan (women), Northwood (women) and Tiffin (women). To qualify, teams must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

The Laker track and field teams, coached by Steve Eles, have earned all-academic honors for four straight years.
