Heath and List place one-two at U.P. Championships
MARQUETTE - Lake Superior State's Taylor Heath and Mark List finished first and second, respectively, at Friday's Upper Peninsula Championships cross country meet hosted by Northern Michigan University.
Heath finished in 26:44, while List followed in 26:50.3. Michigan Tech claimed the next seven spots and won the team event by 11 points.
Michael McPherson placed 10th for LSSU in 29:02.7, and Tucker Seese was 11th in 29:17.
The LSSU women placed third behind MTU and Northern Michigan. Brooke Simon led the Lakers with a ninth-place finish in 24:27. Jamie Wick was 26th in 26:38.2. The Huskies dominated the race with a one-two-three finish and five runners among the top eight.
The women's meet also included four competitors from Finlandia, while Gogebic had a full squad in the men's race.
