Laker men place 11th and women 12th at GLIAC Championships

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Lake Superior State men's cross country team placed 11th among 12 teams, while the women's team was 12th among 13 teams at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships held Saturday at Ashland University.

Sophomore Taylor Heath placed 20th in 26:31.97 to lead the Lakers. Junior Robert Swain was 65th in 28:46.55 for the Laker men. Grand Valley State landed five runners in the top six and all seven in the top 12 to cruise to the team title.

Freshman Brooke Simon placed 54th in 24:40.04 to lead the LSSU women's team. Sophomore Elizabeth Dachs was 75th in 26:18.20. GVSU also won the women's team championship after placing all seven runners in the top 10, including four in the top five.
