Perkins is named to the All-Midwest District Second Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lake Superior State senior guard Scott Perkins was named to the National Basketball Coaches Association All-Midwest District Second Team. He was one of 88 NCAA Division II players in the nation to be honored.

Perkins (Perrysburg, Ohio) averaged 17.8 points per game to tie for fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in scoring. He was also fourth in average three-point field goals per game at 2.3 and 11th in average assists per game at 2.9. He was a four-year starter who finished his career with 1,282 points, 313 assists and 182 three-point field goals. Perkins ranks seventh in career three-point field goals at LSSU.

Perkins was also named to the All-GLIAC North Division First Team.

The all-district first team included Ferris State's Justin Keenan, Southern Indiana's Jamar Smith, Kentucky Wesleyan's Desmond Stephens and Findlay's Marcus Parker and Nathan Hyde.

Other second-team members were Northern Kentucky's David Palmer, Rockhurst's Aaron Hill, Quincy's Billy Baptist and Saginaw Valley State's Avery Stephenson.
