Laker men are picked to finish fourth in GLIAC North Division
BAY CITY - Media picked the Lake Superior State men's basketball team to finish fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division, while coaches selected junior guard Kyle Hunt to the pre-season All-GLIAC First Team.
LSSU, which finished 14-14 last season, returns Hunt, a starter who averaged 12.1 points per game, along with senior starters Justin Williams at center and Andrew Charlesworth at forward. Sophomore guard Derek Kinney was also an occasional starter, while senior guard Micah Hudson played a key sixth-man role.
Grand Valley State was tabbed to win the North Division title, while Findlay was picked to win the South. Findlay is ranked second nationally, while GVSU is ninth. Ferris State's 6-7 power forward and 2010 all-America Justin Keenan was named pre-season player of the year.
In addition to Hunt and Keenan, Michigan Tech junior forward Mike Hojnacki, Northern Michigan junior guard Raymont McElroy and GVSU senior all-region forward Justin Ringler were named to the North Division first team.
