Hunt makes All-GLIAC Second Team

BAY CITY – Lake Superior State junior guard Kyle Hunt, who missed the last 10 games of the season after getting elbowed in the face during the Jan. 22 game against Ashland, was named to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team for men’s basketball.

Prior to his injury, Hunt was one of the GLIAC’s top three scorers. The pre-season All-GLIAC first-teamer averaged 16.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game prior to his injury. Through three seasons, he has 781 career points, a 10.6 ppg scoring average and a .387 shooting percentage.

Ferris State senior forward Justin Keenan was named GLIAC Player of the Year, while Tiffin’s Joe Graessle was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year. FSU’s Bill Sall received coach of the year honors.

Joining Keenan on the GLIAC North Division First Team were FSU’s Darien Gay, Grand Valley State’s Justin Ringler, Michigan Tech’s Ali Haidar and Saginaw Valley State’s Greg Foster.

The GLIAC North Division Second Team also included Northern Michigan’s Jared Benson, MTU’s Mike Hojnacki, GVSU’s James Thomas and FSU’s Lou Williams. The GLIAC North Division All-Defensive Team included FSU’s Dontae Molden and Lou Williams, GVSU’s Ringler and Alvin Storrs, and SVSU’s Chris Webb.
