KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lake Superior State junior Akaemji Williams added more accolades to his resume by being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II Midwest All-District Second Team.
Williams, a 5-8 guard from Pontiac, Mich., averaged 21.5 points, 7.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. He ranks third nationally in steals, is tied for fourth in assists and 33rd in scoring. This season he recorded eight double doubles of points and assists. He has 1,418 points to his credit through three collegiate seasons.
The Midwest District First Team included Ferris State's Zach Hankins and coach Andy Bronkema, Bellarmine's Adam Eberhard and Rusty Troutman, Quincy's Joe Tagarelli, Findlay's Martyce Kimbrough and Southern Indiana's Jeril Taylor.
Joining Williams on the second team were Findlay's Taren Sullivan, Michigan Tech's Kyle Monroe, Kentucky Wesleyan's Ken-Jah Bosley and Wisconsin-Parkside's Kendale McCullum.
