Ten teams compete in first Hall of Fame Classic

KINROSS – Lake Superior State’s Division II athletic teams will benefit from the inaugural Hall of Fame Golf Classic, which was held Aug. 28, at The Oaks at Kincheloe.

The team of Ann Cleary, John and Frank Landry, Steve Hettinga and Mark Blazejewski fired a 62 to win the overall title. The men’s open championship went to the team of Tom Ewing, Bill Crawford, Bill Eichstaedt and Steve Miller with a 63. 

Team Cleary (Meredith, Joe, Jan and Ron) won the mixed title with a 67, while Team Hunt (Rob, Lori and Louise) was second with a 68.

Special event winners were Jason Brenton, Steven Kaunisto, Dayna Drewes, Steve Hettinga, Abby Shereda, Meredith Cleary, Eric Hillman, Rob Hunt, Louise Hunt and Clara James.

Ten teams participated in the tournament.
