Laker men's golf team competes in first spring tournament
GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The Lake Superior State men's golf team opened the spring portion of the 2010-11 season at The Jewell, a regional tournament played at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. The Lakers placed 24th among 25 teams.
Brent Vizina shot an 82-77--159 to tie for 76th and lead the Lakers. Mike Caputo (78-82--160) and P.J. Dienes (82-78--160) tied for 83rd. Brandon Vizina (92-83--175) was 122nd, and Andrew McKenney (101-86--187) was 124th.
Missouri-St. Louis won the team event with 588 points. Drury's Thomas Hay took medalist honors with rounds of 73 and 70.
The Lakers compete in another regional event next weekend in Indianapolis.
