Ericson and Kerr tie for 15th at GLIAC Men's Golf Championship

NASHPORT, Ohio -- Lake Superior State's Joe Ericson and Jason Kerr tied for 15th among 65 golfers at the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship, which concluded Sunday at The Virtues Golf Club.

Ericson improved each day and posted a three-day total of 78-75-74--227, and Kerr shot a steady 76-76-75--227. During the third round, Ericson was 2-over-par on the front nine and even on the back. Kerr began a roller-coaster final round on No. 10 and was even par through three holes after opening the back nine with a birdie, double bogey and birdie. Kerr bogeyed four of the last six holes on the back. On the front nine, Kerr was 1-under with three birdies and two bogeys.

Gavin MacIver tied for 42nd with an 82-80-77--239. Zac Carson (83-83-85--251) was 60th and Sam Eberts (83-83-89--255) was 64th.

LSSU placed 11th in the team standings. Grand Valley State claimed the team title, and Hillsdale's Joel Pietila was the medalist with a 72-76-72--220.
