'Hockey Is Fun' Clinic registration forms due Dec. 6

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Youngsters ages 5 to 11 can gear up for hockey season by participating in a free skills clinic. Lake Superior State University, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and the Soo BlueLiners will be hosting the third annual "Have Fun, Play Hockey" Clinic on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. The clinic is completely free and designed for girls and boys who have never participated in organized hockey.

Participants will skate side-by-side with Laker hockey players.

"It's great to see the kids out there who haven't had the opportunity to play organized hockey yet," said junior Nathan Perkovich, who has worked both of the past clinics at LSSU. "I love going out there with the kids and knowing that I'm helping them experience something new and exciting."

All equipment, including skates, helmets, and pads, will be provided. Participants can keep the jersey and customized stick. The clinic will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Taffy Abel Arena, located in the Norris Center.

Space is limited, so enroll online by visiting www.ccha.com before Dec. 6. Entry forms distributed to students in the Sault Area Schools can be turned in at the Norris Center Ticket Office during regular business hours. Remember, this clinic is only for first time skaters, so no experience is needed. So come out, have fun and play hockey!
