MacVoy received player of the month honorable mention

FARMINGTON HILLS - Lake Superior State junior Zac MacVoy received special mention for the RBC Financial Group Central Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Month Award for October.

MacVoy has recorded at least a point in every Laker hockey game he's played so far this season. Officially, he has  4-4--8, including two assists during last Friday's 2-1 victory at Ferris State and two goals during last Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Bulldogs. The 6-2, 215-pounder from Livonia, Mich., also recorded four assists during a 7-3 exhibition victory over the U.S. NTDP Under-18 team. He didn't play in the exhibition game against Windsor.

The CCHA announced today that sophomore forward Aaron Palushaj of Michigan has been named the RBC Financial Group CCHA Player of the Month for October. Palushaj, a 19-year-old from Northville, Mich., led the Wolverines in scoring with six goals in October to tie for the CCHA lead with teammate Louie Caporusso. He recorded a point in six of seven games, including multiple points on four occasions. The Wolverines have scored 24 goals as a team with Palushaj being involved in 50 percent of the scoring.  Overall, the sophomore is third in the nation with 12 points.

Special mention for RBC Financial Group CCHA Player of the Month honors also went to Alaska junior forward Dion Knelsen, Bowling Green sophomore forward Dan Sexton, Ferris State sophomore defenseman Zach Redmond, Miami sophomore forward Carter Camper, Michigan State senior goaltender Jeff Lerg, Nebraska-Omaha senior forward Dan Charleston, Notre Dame sophomore defenseman Ian Cole, Ohio State sophomore forward John Albert and Western Michigan junior forward Chris Clackson.
