Power named CCHA Rookie of the Week
FARMINGTON HILLS - Lake Superior sTATE freshman Ben Power was named Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week.
Power is a Montreal, Que., native who has two goals and eight assists in 20 games played this season. He is tied for seventh on the Lakers in points with 2-8-10 with John Scrymgeour.
Power netted one goal and one assist during the Lakers' 5-1 victory over Northern Michigan Friday. Saturday, Power assisted on one goal in the 6-3 victory.
Other CCHA Players of the Week were Michigan State's Corey Tropp (offensive), and Ferris State's Zach Redmond (defensive) and Pat Nagle (goaltender).
Power is the second Laker to receive the rookie of the week honor this season. Domenic Monardo was the league's top rookie during the second week of the season.
