Two LSSU players receive Player of the Week honors

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Two Lake Superior players receive player of the week honor for this past weekend's hockey series.
Junior forward Will Acton from Stouffville, Ont. (7-13-20) totaled five points in the Nebraska-Omaha series. Acton received offensive player of the week. Acton had two assists in Friday's game and two goals and one assist in Saturday's game. Acton is now in second place on the Lakers in points with 20.
Junior goaltender Brian Mahoney-Wilson of West Roxbury, Mass. made a total of 77 saves combined in the series against the Mavericks to receive goaltender of the week. Mahoney-Wilson stopped 37 shots during Friday's game and a record high of the season with 40 shots during Saturday's game.
LSSU weekend opponents Notre Dame received the other two Player of the Week honors. Lake Superior State is also ranked for the first time all season at 18th in the Nation in the USCHO.com poll with an overall record of 14-8-4.
