LSSU is 5-0 during Canadian Tour
TORONTO – Lake Superior State finished its Canadian Tour with a 3-1 victory over York University Thursday. The Lakers were 5-0 against Canadian teams in exhibition play.
The Lakers led the whole game, starting their scoring at 13:41 of the first period. Freshman forward Kyle Jean netted LSSU's first goal on assists from fellow rookies Dan Radke and Andrew Perrault.
Senior forward Will Acton netted LSSU’s game-winning goal at 10:02 of the second period. Acton’s goal was unassisted. Lake Superior State led 2-0 at the end of 40 minutes.
York rallied back at 17:09 of the third period with its only goal of the game. Sophomore Nick McParland netted the Lakers' last goal at 2:47 of the third period.
Freshman goaltender Kevin Kapalka recorded the exhibition win for the Lakers, totaling 36 saves during the contest.
