Schofield is honorable mention on All-CCHA list
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Lake Superior State points leader Rick Schofield received honorable mention, and freshman goaltender Kevin Kapalka and sophomore defenseman Zach Trotman garnered votes on the 2011 All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association list.
Schofield, who is tied for ninth in the CCHA in overall points with 16-17--33, received 17 votes and one first-team vote. He ranked eighth among forwards in the voting. The All-CCHA First Team and Second Team included four players from Miami, and two from Michigan, Ferris State and Notre Dame. Michigan State and Alaska had one selection.
Trotman picked up 11 votes and also ranked eighth in voting at his position. Kapalka, who got 12 votes and one first-team vote, ranked fourth among goaltenders.
Trotman is tied for seventh in CCHA points by a defenseman with 6-13--19, while Kapalka is second in the league in save percentage (.926) and sixth in goals-against average (2.25). Kapalka was a unanimous pick on the CCHA All-Rookie Team and the first Laker to make the all-rookie squad since Sean Tallaire in 1993.
