FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Lake Superior State junior goaltender Kevin Murdock was named Central Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Week for his performance Nov. 2-3 at Alaska. Murdock is 2-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 CCHA.
Murdock, a native of Brandenton, Fla., totaled 85 saves for the Lakers in the series split, facing a total 89 shots on goal. For the third time this season he has broke his career high in saves, totaling 48 during a 4-2 victory over the Nanooks. He also had 37 saves during Friday's 2-1 loss that was decided during the final 11 secons of regulation.
Murdock received the Perani cup third star Friday and first star Saturday against the Nanooks. He is second overall in CCHA save percentage (.932).
