SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- The 2017-18 season for the Lake Superior State University men's ice hockey team is rapidly approaching and fans are encouraged to purchase their season tickets now in order to guarantee a seat for every contest of a competitive 17-game regular season home schedule at LSSU's Taffy Abel Arena.
Season tickets can be purchased or renewed at the Student Activity Center Help Desk located in the Norris Center on the LSSU campus from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. (EDT) Monday through Friday and on Saturday's from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 906-635-2602 or ordering online by visiting www.lssulakers.com/tickets. Season ticket holders' seats will be held until Sunday, Oct. 1 before being released to all other ticket holders.
Group ticket rate packages of 10 or more for adults or youth may also be purchased online or at the ticket office and a 20 percent discount will automatically be calculated into your cost. Senior tickets are not calculated into group rate.
A $3 fee will be assessed for those fans requesting tickets be mailed to them.
The 2017-18 schedule features a combined 13 home appearances for the last three months of the 2017 calendar year, beginning Sunday, Oct. 1 with an exhibition home game versus Laurentian (Ontario) at the Taffy Abel Arena. Puck drop is set for 3:07 p.m. (ET).
The season ticket package includes three Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoff games. A refund will be offered for those league playoff ticket holders through May 15, 2018 should the Lakers not host a first-round playoff series.
A season ago, the average attendance for LSSU increased 12 percent to over 2,100 fans per game which represented the highest attendance average for the Lakers since joining the WCHA in the 2012-13 season.
