Lakers Hold at No. 19 in USCHO Poll

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State hockey held at No. 19 in the most recent edition of the Men's Top 20 Poll, as announced on Monday.

Lake Superior State (18-8-2), which is coming off of a bye week, earned 137 voting points to remain at No. 19 in the poll. Their last time on the ice, the Lakers went 2-0-0 against Ferris State on Feb. 1-2 — winning 6-3 on Friday, Feb. 1 and 4-2 on Saturday, Feb. 2, capturing the series sweep at Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Lake Superior State returns to action this weekend with a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series against Michigan Tech at Taffy Abel Arena. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. The 11th annual Check.Slash.Survive game will be held on Saturday. Check.Slash.Survive, the revamped "Pink in the Rink" fundraiser, focuses on raising funds for local organizations that help battle all types of cancer. For this year's Check.Slash.Survive game, the Check.Slash.Survive committee voted to place an emphasis on drawing awareness to childhood cancer.
