Laker men play GVSU in a non-conference match; LSSU women take on Slippery Rock and Rollins
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team lost a non-conference decision to Grand Valley State, and the Laker women's team lost 9-0 to 15th-ranked Rollins and 5-4 to Slippery Rock on Tuesday.
The LSSU women, who are 8-13 overall, split their singles decisions against Slippery Rock, picking up wins at the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 positions. Adrienne DiVito at No. 3 singles won a three-set match, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, while Gaby Juan-Alladio pulled out a close 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4.
Pawel Wegrzyn beat GVSU's Marc Roesslein 6-7 (8-6), 6-4, 6-3 in a hard-fought No. 2 singles match. Craig Baas claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles. The LSSU men dropped to 3-4.
The Laker teams are idle Wednesday and conclude their Florida matches Thursday against King's College.
