Lakers win two of three doubles matches and beat Puerto Rico Mayaguez
ORLANDO, Fla. - Lake Superior State beat Puerto Rico Mayaguez 6-3 in a non-conference tennis match Thursday. The Lakers are now 2-4 this season.
Pawel Wegrzyn (Mississauga, Ont.) at No. 3 singles won 6-3, 6-3. At No. 4 singles, Laker Brandon Clayton (Windsor, Ont.) defeated Enrique Martin, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. LSSU's Travis Toth (St. Johns, Mich.) was victorious, 0-6, 6-2, 6-1. The Lakers' final singles winner was Robert Nelson (Grand Blanc, Mich.) at No. 6, 6-0, 6-1.
No. 1 doubles of Razvan Mag (Windsor, Ont.) and Wegrzyn won, 8-4. LSSU's No. 3 doubles team of Sergiu Laza (Toronto, Ont.) and Toth won, 8-3.
The Lakers will finish their Florida trip with a match against Saint Leo Friday at 3 p.m.
