Men’s tennis falls 5-4 to DI opponent

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team lost 5-4 to Division 1 South Dakota State Wednesday.

At No. 2 doubles, Sergiu Laza (Toronto, Ont.) won his second straight doubles set against South Dakota's Alex Lauseng, 6-2, 6-0. Pawel Wegrzyn (Mississaugo, Ont.) at No. 3 singles and Robert Nelson (Grand Blanc, Mich.) at No. 6 also won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. The No. 3 doubles team of Nelson and Brandon Clayton (Windsor, Ont.) defeated SDSU, 8-3, for its second straight win.

The Lakers (1-4) play Thursday at 8 a.m. against Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. They will finish their Florida trip with a match against Saint Leo Friday at 3 p.m.
