Nelson notches a singles win against Lewis

HOUGHTON - Junior Rob Nelson posted Lake Superior State's lone singles win as the Lakers lost a dual match to Lewis, 7-2.

Nelson claimed a straight sets win at No. 6 singles, while teammates Travis Toth and Pawel Wegrzyn won 9-8 (7-4) at No. 3 doubles. LSSU lost two three-set decisions and two tie-breakers. The Lakers finished 0-2 during their season-opening weekend.

LSSU plays five matches in Orlando, Fla., beginning Feb. 28 against Marywood.
