Lakers top Alma
ALMA, Mich. - Lake Superior State men's tennis played its first of three road matches for the weekend. The Lakers defeated Alma, 8-1, at Stone Recreation Center.
The Lakers swept doubles competition winning No. 1, 2, and 3.
No. 1 doubles of Brandon Clayton (Windsor, Ont) and Sergiu Laza (Toronto, Ont.), who are undefeated in doubles, won 8-3 against Alma. Clayton defeated Kace Lovejoy, 6-1, 6-7 (0-4), 7-5, at No. 1 doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, Robert Nelson (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and Travis Toth (St. Johns, Mich.) won 9-7. Ryne DuShane (Holland, Mich.) and No. 3 doubles partner Dane Fosgard (St. Clair, Mich.) defeated Alma, 8-3.
Nelson, Toth, DuShane, and Fosgard won their singles matches.
