Baptista wins first round in ITA singles
ALLENDALE, Mich. - Lake Superior State sent five men's tennis players to the Men's ITA tournament hosted by Grand Valley, Sept. 23-25.
Junior transfer Felipe Baptista (Sau Paulo, Brazil) and doubles partner freshman Grant Link (Phoenix, Ariz.) were victorious during round one of the ITA, 8-6. Baptista and Link were defeated in round two, 9-7.
Baptista proved to by the only successful LSSU member during singles play. Baptista defeated Mike Wojnarwoski from Lewis, 6-2, 6-1. Baptista went on to lose in round two 6-4, 6-2.
