Lakers record first GLIAC win of the season

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team defeated Lake Erie 8-1 Friday in the Arbuckle Student Activity Center. The Lakers recorded their first win in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, improving to 1-5 overall and 1-1 GLIAC.

Kyle Koster and Ryne DuShane both blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

At No. 1 singles, Felix DeSharnai and Grant Link were victorious over the Storm, 8-5. Koster and partner Pedro Nunes won at No. 2 doubles, 8-3. DuShane and Dane Fosgard also defeated Lake Erie 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.

The Lakers will be back in action Saturday, facing off against Walsh at 10 a.m. in the Arbuckle Student Activity Center.
