Men's tennis team advances to GLIAC fifth-place match

MIDLAND - Lake Superior State defeated Michigan Tech 5-1 in the consolation bracket of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament and advanced to Sunday's fifth-place match.
The Lakers (9-12), who are seeded sixth in the tournament, lost their first-round match 5-0 to No. 3 seed Grand Valley State Saturday at the Midland Tennis Center. They play No. 5 seed Mercyhurst, which advanced after a 5-2 victory over Findlay.
No. 1 seed Northwood plays GVSU for the title.
