Fisher completes LSSU women's basketball recruiting class for 2010-11
SAULT STE. MARIE – Lake Superior State coach Jamie Pewinski completed her recruiting class for the 2010-11 season by bringing in 5-10 guard Stephanie Fisher of Johannesburg-Lewiston High School.
Fisher averaged 19.3 points, 5.0 steals and 4.5 assists per game to lead Jo-berg to a 23-3 record and Class D quarterfinal appearance in 2009-10. She scored in double figures during three of her four varsity seasons.
“Stephanie is an athletic guard who kind of fell under the radar during her career,” Pewinski said. “She is a good shooter and extremely creative around the basket. But most of all, she is winner, as evidenced by her high school teams success. Her work ethic and love for the game will help her continue to grow into a better player, and we are extremely glad that she has chosen to attend Lake Superior State.”
Fisher made the Associated Press, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News and Brink News Team Class D all-state first teams. She was an unanimous choice on the AP all-state squad, and is a two-time All-Ski Valley Conference first team selection.
LSSU’s recruiting class also includes 6-3 center Laura Van Es (Eau Claire, Wis.), 5-9 guard Jasmine Brown (Romulus, Mich.), 6-0 forward Jessica Graham (Brimley, Mich.), 5-9 forward Taylor Green (Lansing, Mich.), 5-6 guard Raven Trammell (Holland, Mich.) and 6-0 forward Candice LaCross (Grand Rapids, Mich.).
