Lakers finish 2-0 at MTU
HOUGHTON, Mich. - Lake Superior State finished 2-0 at the Michigan Tech Showcase after beating Finlandia 84-35 Saturday.
Maria Blazejewski scored 14 points, and Laura VanEs added 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead LSSU (3-1). Four Lakers scored eight points each. LSSU shot 45 percent from the field, including 7-of-17 from three-point range. The Lakers made 24-of-28 free throws and out-rebounded Finlandia, 55-27.
Shaikiera Armstrong led Finlandia with 11 points and seven rebounds. The Lions shot 23.2 percent from the field.
Lake Superior State's upcoming road trip is a Thanksgiving journey to Phoenix, Ariz. The Lakers play Grand Canyon at 5 p.m. MT on Nov. 26.
