Rain cancels final day of GLIAC Championship

BIG RAPIDS - Rain and unplayable course conditions cancelled the second day of competition at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships hosted by Ferris State.

Grand Valley State, with a team score of 594 (+18) won the GLIAC title, while Ashland was second at +44. LSSU did not compete with a full team during its inaugural entry into the tournament.

Meredith Cleary shot an 88-101--189 Saturday to place 31st. Louise Hunt carded a 104-106--210 to place 33rd.

GVSU's Ashley Smith was the individual champion with a 70-73--143.
