Drewes and Gubbins are solid on Day 2 for LSSU
ALLENDALE - Freshmen Dayna Drewes and Samantha Gubbins shot solid rounds of 85 for the Lake Superior State women's golf team, which finished 13th among 14 teams at the Grand Valley State Fall Classic.
Drewes fired an 87-85--172 to tie for 53rd place and lead LSSU on the GVSU course, which was set up as a preview for the 2011 NCAA Championship. Gubbins was 62nd with a 96-85--181, while Amanda Garcia was 65th with a 93-93--186.
Holly Daniel was 74th and Meredith Cleary was 75th for LSSU.
The Lakers compete Oct. 10-11 at Findlay.
