Lakers place 12th at Laker Fall Invitational
ALLENDALE - Freshman Megan Henry shot an 85-89--174, and sophomore Nicole Bouwens finished one stroke back at 83-92--175 to lead the Lake Superior State women's golf team, which placed 12th among 15 teams at the 2011 Laker Fall Invitational hosted by Grand Valley State.
Henry tied for 45th place, while Bouwens tied for 51st place. Sophomore Samantha Gubbins (97-88--185) tied for 63rd place, and was followed by sophomore Dayna Drewes (91-97--188), who tied for 65th place. Freshman Halley Borseth (95-100--195) finished 73rd.
GVSU, led by medalist Sarah Huffman with a 69-76--145, won the team title, finishing 12 strokes ahead of runner-up Ashland and California-Pennsylvania.
The weekend tournament concluded the fall portion of the Lakers' season.
