Women's Golf in Eighth Place Following Day One at Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's golf team concluded the first day of the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite in eighth place in the nine team field.

Lake Superior shot a 331, one shot higher than Davenport and Saginaw Valley State, who are tied at the end of day one.

Leading the way for the Lakers was freshman Naomi Keyte.  Keyte shot a 76 (+4), placing her in a tie for 8th place.  Fellow freshman Taylor Simoneau was +11 on the day, as her score of 83 landed her in a tie for 26th.

Senior Taylor Trzasko and junior Tatiana Hulan both finished tied for 34th with their 86 score, putting them 14 over par.  Right behind them was junior Reanna Barth, who finished 15 over par, with an 87.

Northern Michigan's Haley Hewer was atop the leaderboard at the close of the first day, shooting 2 under par.  Host Grand Valley State was the top team on day one, shooting 299 as a team and 11 over par.

The invite concludes on Sunday, October 1st.
