Lakers wrap up Florida trip
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Lake Superior State softball team concluded its spring break trip to Florida with a 4-0 loss to Upper Iowa and a 1-0 loss to Saint Rose on Sunday at the Rebel Spring Games.
Lorrie Chaperon had two singles for LSSU's only hits against Saint Rose. Laker pitcher Jillian Willette gave up one run on three hits in the fifth inning and allowed only five hits for the game. She also totaled two strikeouts and one walk.
Rachel Hall had a double and a single, and Nicole Carstensen added a single against Upper Iowa. Nikki Christensen took the loss, giving up an unearned run in the second inning and three runs on four hits in the fifth. She totaled eight hits, five strikeouts and two walks.
Lake Superior State (4-14) plays in the Ohio Tournament in Urbana on Saturday, March 14.
