Earned Division 1 all-state honors in 2008 and made the All-Big North Conference First Team in 2009 while playing for Alpena High School. Helped lead the Wildcats to a 34-6 record and state finals appearance in 2008. Batted .245 as a junior and .360 as a senior, and stole 29 bases in 2009, breaking the school record set by her sister, Lisa, who was a three-year starting outfielder at Grand Valley State.
