Junior (2009-10): Received All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention after finishing second on the team in batting at .299 and posting a .952 fielding average as an outfielder.
A Bud Cooper Endowment Award winner in 2009, this versatile infielder batted .267 and had five stolen bases during her first season at LSSU in 2008-09. Carstensen appeared in 13 games and had a 4.39 earned run average while playing for North Dakota in 2007-08. She helped lead Maple Grove High School to the 2006 Minnesota State Finals. As a senior captain in 2007, she earned second-team all-state and first-team all-conference honors while batting .471. Daughter of Jeff and Judy Carstensen. Major: mechanical engineering.
