Gingrich and Maxon receive All-GLIAC Honorable Mention
ASHLAND, Ohio - Lake Superior State junior pitcher Felicia Gingrich and sophomore utility player Amanda Maxon received All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honorable Mention for the 2012-13 softball season.
Maxon (Munising, Mich.) ranked 33rd in the GLIAC in hitting with a .333 average, ranked ninth in home runs with five and 26th in RBIs with 15. A true utility player, she played catcher, shortstop, third base and right field for the Lakers this season.
Gingrich (St. Johns, Mich.) was 4-12 on the mound and ranked 25th in the GLIAC in earned run average at 4.0. She batted .304 in the GLIAC.
Maxon led LSSU in hits with 28 in league play, while Gingrich was third with 21.
GLIAC regular-season champion Grand Valley State claimed player of the year (Katie Martin), freshman of the year (Sarah Andrasik) and coach of the year (Doug Woods) awards. Ferris State's Dana Bowler was named pitcher of the year. Wayne State won the GLIAC Tournament title.
