Lakers sweep Defiance in women's tennis

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Lake Superior State women's tennis team swept Defiance College, 9-0, during a non-conference match Thursday. Redshirt freshman Ingrid Pflieger won a No. 1 singles tie-breaker, 10-4, to capture the closest dual of the day. The remaining Lakers won in straight sets.
LSSU improved to 3-5 overall, while Defiance dropped to 0-16. The Lakers resume conference play at 2 p.m. Friday at Tiffin.
