Lakers sweep Oilers during home finale

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake Superior State women's tennis team swept Findlay 9-0 to pick up its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory of the season and conclude its four-match homestand with a victory.
The Lakers (2-5 overall, 1-5 GLIAC) won in straight sets in singles play. LSSU's only senior, Weronika Lomacka, played her final home match as a Laker and won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. She also teammed with Gaby Juan-Alladio to win 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Findlay dropped to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the GLIAC.
The Lakers travel to Tiffin on Oct. 10.
