LSSU tennis team wins season opener
ESCANABA - The Lake Superior State women's tennis team rallied back from a 3-0 doubles deficit to beat Lawrence University 5-4 in its season opener Tuesday in Escanaba.
"We played really well for our first match," LSSU coach Charlie Drury said. "We need to gell a little bit more in doubles, but that's normal with a young team. We won four out of five singles matches. Ingrid played a really good match at No. 1 singles and lost a tie-breaker. It was good tennis."
The Lakers begin Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at 2 p.m. Friday at Northwood.
