Pflieger and Wiethoff remain unbeaten at No. 3 doubles

HOUGHTON - Freshmen Ingrid Pflieger and Erin Wiethoff finished the regular season 8-0 at No. 3 doubles after cruising to an 8-1 victory Saturday at Michigan Tech.

MTU (5-4 overall, 5-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) won the team dual, 6-3. LSSU (4-7 overall, 2-7 GLIAC) suffered close losses at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles. Carolyn Pumford and Wiethoff improved to 7-5 at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

The Lakers head to Midland on Oct. 22-3 for the GLIAC Championship.
