Lakers open spring season at MTU
HOUGHTON - Lake Superior State opened the spring portion of its women's tennis season with a 6-3 loss at Michigan Tech. The Lakers (6-9) forfeited at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
LSSU's Carolyn Pumford, Katie Watchorn and Erin Wiethoff won at Nos. 3, 4 and 5 singles. Pumford claimed a three-set win, while Watchorn won in straight sets with a 7-3 tie-breaker victory.
The Lakers play Lewis Saturday.
