All four sets go to the wire at FSU

BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State won Sets 3 and 4 to pull away from a 1-1 tie and beat the Lake Superior State volleyball team 3-1 during Friday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.
All four sets went to the wire as FSU claimed a 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22 victory.
Ali Jones and Brishia Stroven led the Lakers (6-16 overall, 2-12 GLIAC) in kills with nine each. Ashley Purvis totaled 23 assists, while back-up setter Janelle Balkwill had five. Brittany Newberry totaled 29 digs and three service aces.
Ferris State (16-9 overall, 8-5 GLIAC) totaled 51 team kills to LSSU's 36.
The Lakers play their final regular-season road match Saturday at Grand Valley State.
